It is indicated for the CT study of joints such as the shoulder, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, etc., and is an alternative when arthro MRI is contraindicated.

It allows us to assess fibrocartilage lesions (meniscus), tendons, tears or abnormal distension of the joint capsule, among other pathologies.

To perform this technique, a contrast medium is injected into the joint. This process is performed with a fine needle and after the application of a local anesthetic, so it is considered a practically painless procedure.

The precise point for the placement of the puncture needle is located by means of an X-ray or ultrasound equipment and the total time of the test does not normally exceed 30 minutes.

It is not necessary to come fasting for this procedure.
