It is used for the study of the structures of the inner ear, the crags or the mastoid cells.

For its correct preparation, a previous fasting of 6 hours is required (3 in diabetic patients), not being necessary the suspension of any treatment and being able to drink water during the 6 hours of fasting.

Once prepared and inside the machine, the examination time does not usually exceed 10 minutes.

Sometimes, depending on the pathology to be studied, it is necessary to inject iodinated contrast through the vein, which will provide us with a better characterization of the pathology.
