Fusion prostate biopsy

Fusion prostate biopsy

< Go back to "SERVICES"

It is a test that is performed to obtain samples of the prostate for histological analysis. It is performed with sedation and it is necessary to have previously performed a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the prostate. The fusion technique allows the biopsy needle to be directed to potential MRI lesions with much greater precision.

Biopsies are performed by Dr. Carlos Nicolau or someone from his team of collaborators. Dr. Nicolau is also head of the Genitourinary Radiology section of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, professor at the University of Barcelona and is internationally recognized for his work and publications , with extensive experience in prostate imaging and interventional imaging.
