DacryoCT computed tomography

For its preparation, it is necessary a previous fasting of 6 hours (3 in diabetic patients), not being necessary the suspension of any treatment and being able to drink water during the 6 hours of fasting.
Also called Dacryocystography - CT, is a minimally invasive technique for the study of the lacrimonasal duct (glands and ducts through which tears pass).
For its realization, a small cannula is introduced through the entrance of the tear duct, and through it a contrast is injected while the information is acquired by CT.
This test does not require prior preparation, and the time inside the machine does not usually exceed 15 minutes.
