The 3D image provides a realistic representation of the anatomical region of interest; unlike the 2D examination, it allows the viewing angle to be modified and the thickness of the reconstructed images to be adjusted in order to correctly diagnose the reciprocal position of the various dental elements and the relationships with the surrounding anatomical structures.
